According to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the independent agency that insures bank deposits, IndyMac Bank was the third-largest financial institution to fail in U.S. history. In the wake of IndyMac’s demise, two more banks in Nevada and California were recently taken over by the FDIC.

The way consumer credit scores are calculated will be changing soon. In early spring, The Fair Isaac Corp. – creator of the FICO score – will be unveiling a new scoring model for determining credit scores, dubbed FICO 08.
